Deeper Learning in a Distance Learning World: Workshop 5

"Creating a Culture of Thinking with Students in a Distance Learning Space," led by Sher Anderson Petty (Seneca Valley High School-Montgomery Co. Public Schools)
A Culture of Thinking (CoT) is "a place where a group’s collective as well as individual thinking is valued, visible, and actively promoted as part of the regular, day-to-day experience of all group members" (Ron Ritchhart). In this workshop, we will explore the way one teacher has created a CoT in her classroom by having learners become more aware of themselves as thinkers. They look metaphorically at the group itself as a vehicle on an expedition (of learning). How might this work in distance learning space? Join us for: 1) a peek into one Project Zero practitioner's shift to online learning, and 2) guidance for crafting your own steps toward co-building a CoT.
Tickets are $35 each.
