Making Change through Maker-Centered Learning Conference 2022

April 29, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - May 1, 2022 @ 3:15 pm EDT

$200

Inspiring joy, meaning, hope, and action for our learners—and ourselves!

As we navigate the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic–which has touched virtually everyone around the globe, often in deeply tragic ways–how do we find a path forward that supports deeper learning in students but also inspires joy, meaning, hope and action for a better tomorrow? At this virtual conference, we will explore this question in all of its complexity.

Over two days, you will learn about two projects begun here, in Washington, DC: Making Across the Curriculum (MAC), a Project Zero Agency by Design initiative, and JusticexDesign (JxD). Both MAC and JxD have involved a variety of educators and settings, including traditional public, public charter, independent and parochial schools, as well as museums.

During the conference, participants will explore the pedagogical frameworks and tools that have been developed in these two projects. Project Zero researchers Edward Clapp and Sarah Sheya will be featured speakers, with interactive workshops facilitated by participants who have put these ideas into practice in a variety of contexts.

All conference participants will also be invited to attend a special virtual exhibition of maker-centered learning highlighting educators who have been participating in the two projects. This exhibition will take place on Friday, April 29, from 4:30-5:30 PM. Please RSVP HERE for the exhibition.

All sessions will take place on Zoom.
