The 11th annual Washington International School Summer Institute for Teachers (WISSIT) will take place August 5-9!

How do we create powerful, enduring learning experiences for all learners?
How do we explore complex topics in engaging and meaningful ways?
And in what ways can we raise up young people’s voices and foster civic agency?

These questions and more will be front and center at the eleventh annual WISSIT!

This intense–and fun!–week of professional learning offers educators an immersive experience with effective strategies for cultivating deep thinking and understanding at all grade levels and across subject areas.

WISSIT assists educators in creating powerful, enduring learning experiences for all students; delving into complex topics in engaging and meaningful ways; and raising up young people’s voices and fostering civic agency. The arts are at the center of all we do. Highlights of the week are a Day at the Museums, when we spend an entire day on or near the National Mall learning with world-class museum educators; and Art Happenings, immersive experiences exploring the joy of art and art-making.

WISSIT is open to participants in the Washington, DC, region and beyond. Scholarships are available for teachers from Title I settings, and discounts are on offer for schools sending a team of three or more teachers.
